ITALIAN GOVERNMENT WANTS TO KNOW. PHESS ASSOCIATION. (Received February 21, 7.51 a.m.) LONDON, 20th February. The North German Lloyd Company finds that it is unable to recruit Italian emigrants untjl the Queensland sugar companies submit to the Emigration Department of Italy full details of the contract relating to woges and other conditions. The sanction ot the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Minister for the Interior is ateo requisite. A Melbourne cable recently stated that permission had been given by the Federal Government to import 1000 Italians for the sugar plantations.
