_♦ TROUBLE WITH ENGINES. PHES3 ASSOCIATION. SYDNEY, 20th February. Captain Hayward, of tho Ventura, states that he never saw such bad weather as that which he experienced off the New Zealand coast. Head winds continued all tho way across. He admitted that tho engines gave some trouble. At first the auxiliaries, and then the steam pipes, showed defects, and other troubles developed afterwards. Under the circumstances he took things easy.
