♦ ANNUAL MEETING. The sixteenth annual moeting of the Wellington Commercial Travellers' and Warehousemen's Association took placo last evening. Mr. E. C. MUlb presided over a small nttondahec. Tho report mentioned that for tho twelve months ended 30th November, 1906, tho surplus amunted to £9584 11b 4d, made up thus — General account £8140 lls Id, relief fund £1111 3b 3d, Euspense account £332 17e, compared with £9091 2s 7d for tho preceding year, ail incroaso of £493 8s 9d. Tho relief fund showed an increaEo of £46. In tho revenue account tho receipts from all sources were £293 12s lOd less than those for laet year, while the expendituro had decreased by £228 7s 7d. Tho membership register gavo a, total of 502, in contrast with 531 last year. report gave details of concessions mado by tho Kailway D6partmout, and mentioned that tho Union Company had not yet mado concessions on samples for East Coast ports similar to those given on 7th February last year between Wellington -and West Coast ports. A sum of £332 17s had been transferred from tho subscriptions account in anticipation of preliminary Bteps being taken by tho incoming conimitteo to cstab- j lish a mortuary benefit fund. I Tho chairman, in moving tho adoption of tho report and balnnce-shoet, said it seemed to him that it was noceEEary to work up al spirit of loyalty among the members. Somo good work had been done by last year's committee in getting privileges from tho Government. The motion was carried. Tho following officers wero elected: — President, Mr. E. C. Mills ; vice-progidents, Mobstb. R. S. Griffiths, D. J. Nathan. A. E. Ponroe, J. A. Piko, Georgo Wilson, John Newton, W J. Salmon, D. Jones, J. H. Owen, G. Pino, M. Laing, and Tewsley ; trustees, Messrs. J. H. uwon, Clayton, and J". A. Pike ; secretary, Colonel Stuart Nowall ; honorary treasurer, Mr. R. Halley; auditors, Mestta. J. H. Hall and Henry Kembor and Son ; solicitor, Mr. H. D. Bell, It was explained that no nominations had been received by tho due dat 6to take) the placo of members retiring by rotation. It was agrood to reeomniond that Messrs. Dixon, Duthie, Hanlon, Pen-in, PattsTßon, Roach, Ross, and Turnbull should bo re-appolnted o^ those members Who did not retire this' It v/ni decided that no alteration should bij mcjde in tho seali of tho association's fees, £3 3s for ontr&nco and £2 2b annually for membership. Tho twelfth annual mooting of the Wellington Commercial Travellers' _ and Warehousemen's Club Cbmpany, Limited, was also held. Tho report stated thai tho salo of tho Hunter-street property had boon effected, and the overdraft ot tho Union Bank, which stood at £11,960 Ps 2d, had been reduced to £7640 12b 9d. The retiring directors and auditors were re-elected.
