The coming contest between the touring M.C C. team and Wellington, which is to begin next week, is being taken very casually by the local selectors and players. No selection of probable players has yet been made, and consequently no special practice has been indulged in. Even amongst our leading players generally practice has been slack on the Basin Reserve during tho past month, and it does not appear as if tho return match with the English team was being taken seriously by Wellington cricketers. The match is to be played on Friday, Saturday, and Monday, the 15th, 16th, and 18th inst.
