This morning a Post reporter asked the ■ Chief Health Officer about the precau- j tions that New Zealand was taking. "We have never really relaxed . our .in- j spection of passengers coming from the \ Australian States affected with the plague," said Dr. Mason. "We have done it with as little interference as possible, and we are still kesping a watchful eyo on people coming f ron> New South Wales and Queensland. Unless ■we are unfortunate enough to have a vessel coming with a case on board, there' is no need to institute ' further precautions. If we do have a patient we nave all the machinery ready to cope with the case."
