[BY T2UQBAPH, — PK6S3 ASSOGIATIOH.) AUCKLAND, This Day. A sensatjonal affair is reported from the suburb of Kingsland. A young man named Mathcw Alexander Jelcie, aged 38 years, a quarryman, who two months ago married an Auckland barmaid, took carbolic acid, and finally sent two revolver shots into his head. Assistance wag obtained and the injured man, who is in a critical condition, was removed to the hospital. The couple boarded, with Mrs, flerderson, on the Kipgsland-road. Jelcie is said to have, been passionately fond of his wife, and his attempt on his life is stated to ha,ve followed on a quarrel with her.
