AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
Two events arranged by thp Port Nicholson Amateur Athletic Club were decided last evening on tho Basin Reserve. The contests were over 120 yds and one and a half milc3. Following are the results :—: — 120 yds. — First heat — F. Green (4yds), 1; A. Golds (7yds), 2; time, 12 3-ssec. Second heat^-R. Bridge (2yds), 1; J. Wilton (3yds), 2; time, 13sec. Third heat— W. Baumgart (7yds), 1; H. E. Willis (Byds), 2; time, 13scc. Final— H. E. Willis (Byds}, 1'; A. Golds (7yds), 2 ; time. 12 3-ssec. Ono and a half mile run.— W. Gosling (40ydg), 1 ; J. Prondevillo (scratch), 2 ; W. J. M'Kay (80yds). 3. Time, 7min 23 2-Ssec. H. Kerr, tho walking champion, has informed the Civil Service and Port Nicholson Clubs that the local meeting will be the only one at which he will compete before going to tho Exhibition meeting at ■ Chnstchurch. Other well known athletes who intend competing at the gathering to do held shortly are Henderson, Ross, Goodbehere, Dawson, Gosling, Anderson, Bridge, Prendoville, and others. Largo entries have been received for the cycling events.
