W. P. CRICK'S POSITION.
PROPOSED REMOVAL FROM SOLICITOR'S ROLL. CASE BEFORE THE FULL COURT. [FRXB3 ASSOCIATIONS SYDNEY, 20th December. A special Bitting of the Full Court was held last Thursday, consisting of the Chief Justice (Sir Frederick Darley), Mr. Justice Simpson, and Mr. Justice Cohen, when William Patrick Crick was called upon, in view of the report of the Landa Commission and the resolution passed by tho Assembly disqualifying him from eligibility as & member of Parliament, to show cause to-day why his name should not be removed from the roll of solicitors. Crick duly appeared beforo the Full Court to-day in answer to the summons, j The ground of the citation was the finding of the Lands Commissioner (Mr. Justice Owen), that of sums of money received by Peter Close, as agent, in respect of lands then being dealt with by_ the Minister of Lands (Crick), the latter received half. The proceedings against Crick were initiated on behalf of the Incorporated Law Institute. Mr. G. H. Reid and Mr. Walker appeared for Crick. Ine latter in an affidavit set out the necessity of a postponement of the hearing \o enable him to prepare hie case. He declared he had not been guilty of any offence against the law of the State. Mr. Reid, in the course of a lengthy argument in favour of postponement, said they asked for an opportunity to bring forward such explanations as would lead the court to the conclusion that the finding of the Lands Commission was wrong. The Chief Justice eaid the only thing the Court was concerned about was the finding that Crick has received half Close's fees. Eventually a postponement was grantedtill the first day of the nest ierm, in February. ROYAL COMMISSION. SYDNEY, 20th December. The Government has appointed District Court Judge Fitzhardinge as a Royal Commission to enquire into certain allegations in connection with tho jury which took part in tho trial of Crick and Willis on charges of conspiracy.
