g>CHARGE AGAINST TWO PARISIANS. VICTIMISING A DOCTOR. tFixrss association.! PARIS, Ist December. The relatives of a mci chant named Jcfquiries have informed the police that ho mysteriously disappeaicd in 1903, ■aftdt" advancing 3800 francs (£150) to M. Cebron and Marie Pcsnel, who were arrested some days ago on a charge of victimising a Canadian doctor named Herbert to tha extent of £380. It is now alleged that Marie Pesnel has been associated with Cebron in extensive swindles in connection with a matrimonial agency. M. Jefquiries's money was advanced in connection with a sterilised milk scheme organised by Pesnel prior to her entry into the matrimonial agency business. Dr. Herbert, who is recovering from injuries inflicted upon him by Cebron, declares that • Mario Pcsnel once asked him to write a cheque, remarking that she "wished to learn how to draw a cheque." Ho is now convinced that Cebron and Pesnel intended to murder him, and then forge his name with a view to withdrawing a Bum of £2000 from his banking account.
