ROTORUA RESIDENT DROWNED. fBT TELEGRAPH. — PIIES9 ASSOCIATION.} ROTORUA, This Day. A sad drowning fatality occurred on Lake Rotokakahi yesterday morning. William Seeley and Alexander Smith wont out in a small boat, which it was subsequently discovered leaked badly. Tho boat was swamped, and both men clung to it for some time. Seeley then left the boat and struck out for shore. Ho swam well for about a chain, and then suddenly disappeared. Smith stuck to the boat, and eventually reached land in a 1 greatly exhausted state. Mrs. Smith witnessed the sad occurrence from shore, sho being the only person present. Mr. Seeley was a highly rospocted rcsidont of ttotorua. Ho leaves a widow and ono child. A CHILD FATALLY SCALDED. NAPIER, This Day. A two-year-old child named Arthur Herbert Strochan died in tho ho&pitul yesterday as tlio result of scalds sustained by the upsetting of a tin of boiling water.
