THE EXHIBITION.
" ' FIJI'S DISPLAY. Mr., Leslie E. Brown, Fiji's Commissioner to the New Zealand! International Exhibition, arrived by the Hauroto this morning on his way to Christchurch, with- about thirty tons of exhibits representing the Fiji Islands. The exhibits include specimens of most of the pro- t ducts 'of - the Islands, including sugar cane plants, paddy plants (rice), as well a& other botanical specimens of interest. In addition to these live specimens, the exhibit-- embcaces a large assortment of Kji curios and, articles .associated .with the life of the islanders. An official handbook has been prepared embodying practically everything that an enquirer ttay wish to know about Fiji, its climate, government, history, population, agriculture, education, etc., also notes drawing attention to the special advantages the colony presents to intending eettlers. A band of Fijian warriors is to arrive next month to erect Fiji houses in the Exhibition grounds, so as to represent to visitors the' home life of the J*iji aboriginal. A body of the renowned fire-walkers -of Bega -will be attached to the above.'Section. ° . Mr. Lohnnan, of the Colonial Sugar Conroany, who is exhibiting at Christchurch, also arrived by the Hauroto.
