VICTORIAN GAMING SUPPRESSION BILL. DRASTIC AMENDMENTS. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.! (Received October 19, 10.7 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Mr. Bent, the State Premier, proposes some drastic amendments in the Gaming Suppression Bill, including the licensing of racecourses at £1 per annum, and taxing the, .gross revenue of racing clubs for charitable purposes. Clubs with a revenue up to £600 will, if the amendments ar6 adopted, have to pay 3^ per cent. ; from £600 to £1000, 4 per cent. ; from £1000, 5 per cent. On the basis of last year's revenue the Victorian Racing Club would have to pay £3000. It is also proposed to limit the number of racing days.
