PERSONAL MATTERS.
Mr. T. Ballinger has arranged to visit' England early next year. Mr. F. Y. Lethbridge, M.H.R., has been appointed a school commissioner for the Wellington district. Mr. Maginnity, solicitor, of Nelson, is afc present on a visit to Wellington in" connection with certain educational matters in the Nelson district. ,On the eve, of hk marriage, Mr. Keith Bellj who has been connected with the Wellington branch of the National Bank .tor the past five years, received a (presentation from his brother officers. Mr. B. A. Winter, 8.A., master on the ■ secondary side of tho , Onehunga District High School, has beer appointed Principal, of the ' Thames High School, vice the late Mr. James Adams. Councillor Ballinger is' suffering from ■n attack of influenza, which is very prevalent at the present time, and was unable to attend the meeting of the City Council last night.
