"THE PEOPLE'S BIRTHRIGHT."
TO THB EDMCOa \ Sir,— The- letter,;of : <'Vox Populi, Vox Dei," under' the above heading, shows an attitude of mind all too prevalent amongst land reformers of New Zealand. He *ays the shelving of tho Land Bill will give the opponcnta of the mcisure time to throw dust in the eyca of tha people, and he considers the Farmers' Union will rejoice at the decision of tho Government. Surely if the land reformers are in earnest they will be glad of the opportunity of meeting the Farmers' Union or any body holding similar views. I believe the land question to be the fundamental basis of all ,refcim, but there has been no enthusiasm shown for the measure introduced by the Government. The vim and go- that I havo seen displayed by land reformers a few years since is sadly lacking now. Let reformers of every type meet combination by combination, and as v.-c have justice on our side we will win if we fight and ceaso whining. — I am, etc., T. ROBERTSON. Wellington, 16th October.
