PROPOSED SPECIAL LOAN OF £28,509 To bo floated locally (or otherwise) by issue of debentures at a rate not ex* oeeding 4^ per centum per. annum, under the provisions of "Tho Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," "Ths -Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901," and "The Tramways Act, 1894." \ nnHE Council of the Borough of Onslow J- hereby givo public notice that Buoh Council proposes to borrow by way of special loan within the meaning of "T^O Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901," tho earn. of £28,500, for and in connection with the following undertakings in and for the benefit of that" part of Ihe 1 Borough' of 1 Onslow known as the South Ward : — UNDERTAKINGS. Tho construction of an Electric Tramway froai and functioning with tho City of Wellington Electric Tramway at the comer of Tinakori-road and Molesworthstreet, in tho said City, and proceeding along Park-street and Grant- ' road; in tho said City to a point in the Town Belt of Wellington, and thence along a road through the said Town Belt and along tho Wadcstown Main-road and through land to bo acquired to a terminus .' opposite the Post Office at Wadestown, with all necessary equipment (other than rolling stocM> including car shed at terminus and cables underground through City and Boosters in Power-house £16,C00 The formation of new road nnd tho diverting; nnd widening with necessary formation of the existing road through the said Town Bait (with the consent of the Wellington City Council) and tho diverting and widening with necessary formation of tho Wadestown Main-road and the cost of acquisition of necessary land for such purposes nnd any compensation in respect thereof, such works being required to provide tho best course and grade for the abovementioned tramway ' 8,001 For engineering and contingencies on both tho above items, and for the cost of raising loan and for interest and sinking fund for first year, eastiinated at 4,000 £28,500 It. is proposed that by agreement with tho Wellington City Council tho City Eloc trio Tram Cars shall be run over the tramway in conjunction with tho City tramway systom, tho City Council supplying all la-,, bour and power on terms arranged by (he Borough Council with tho City Council. Tho Council proposes to pledge a special rate of throe and one-eighth pence in tho pound on the rateable value (on tho. basis ' of the unimprovod value) of all rateable property within that portion of tho Borough of Onslow known as tho South Ward, and also to mortgago tho tramway undertaking (subject to tho agreement as to ■ running with tho abovementioned City Council and to tho rights of the City of . Wellington Corporation) as security forth*, said loan , of £28,500 and tho interest and sinking fund thorcon. It is proposod to provide an annual sum equal to 0110 per centum of tho amount borrowed ns a sinking fund for tho lean, and that tho whole of the loan shall be re- . payablo at tho expiration of a term of 26 years, computed from tho Ist day of De- * cembor, 1906.
