TRAM ACCIDENT.
[DT TJEWEGKAPH. — PRZSS ASSOCUXBMf.t AUCKLAND, 16th September. A tram accident occurred at Epooni od Saturday afternoon, after the Pakuranga Hunt Club races. It appears that a car was at a standstill, when another came from behind and dashed into it. An elderly man, who was sitting on a sandbox in tho stationary car, was thrown to the ground, but/ save for a slight rsealp wound, wes not otherwie© injured. Tho passengers in both cars were conniderably shaken, and the apron and platform of the rear car were much damaged.
William Jane, the nineteen-yoar-old eon of Mr. P. Jane, railway enginedriver of the Upper Hutt, died suddenly at the township on Saturday. Daceaded had attended a danco the evening previous, and then appeared to bo in a Rood atnto of health.
