THE NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY S. H. GOLLAN. ["MESS ASSOCIATION^ CHRISTCHURCH, 14th Sept. The final round of the New Zealand' golf championship was played at tho Shirley Links between S. H. Gollan (Napier) and W. T. D. Hnrman (Christchurch) to-day over a thirty-six hole course. Tho weather was dull but calm, and vory satisfactory. At the end of tho eighteenth hole (sollan wns 6 up, nnd ho won the championship at tho twenty-ninth hole by 8 up and 7 to piay. Both played a vory evon long game, but Harman was much weaker than Gollan in approaching and putting, and lost holes on that account. The'first holo was won by Gollan in 5 and tho next two were halved. GolI lan won tho fourth and the fifth, sixth j and seventh wore halved ; the eighth waa won •by Gollan, tho ninth was halved, the tenth was won by Gollan, and tho eleventh and twelfth wore halved. Gollan won tho thirteenth, tho fourteenth was halved, the fifteenth was won by Gollan, and tho sixteenth halved. Harman won his first holo at tho seventeenth, but lost the eighteenth. Tho nineteenth hole wns halved in 5 and tho twentieth halved in 4. Gollan won the twenty-first by 6 to 6 and tho twenty-second oy 3 to 4. Tho twentythird wns halved in 4. tho twenty-fourth halved in 4, and tho twenty-fifth was hulved in 7. Gollan won tho tventy--sixth in 4, and tho twenty-seventh was halved in 5. The twenty-oighth waa won by Hftrman in 3, and tho twentyninth wo 6 halved. Gollan thus winning by 8 up mid 7 to play.
