NOTICE iR hereby given that under tho powers conferred by "Tho Municipal Corporation Act, 1900," and clauses 37, 38, 39, 40, of "Tho Rating Act, 1894," the Council of the Borough of Petone will, at a Special Meeting to be held on FRIDAY, 28th SEPTEMBER, 1906, make and levy tho following Rates for the period commencing Ist day of April, 1906, and ending 31st March, 1907, viz. : — (a) A General Rate for the general purposes of tho Borough of One Penny and Five-eighths of a Penny in tho Pound Sterling on the unimproved value of all the rateable property within tho Borough _of Petone, as shown on tho valuation roll now in force. (b) Under tho provisions of "The ■ Rating Act, 1894," and section 103 of "Tho Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," a uniform aiinual Sanitary Feo of Eleven Shillings and Threopenca (lls 3d) per houso served, will bo levied in lieu of a sanitary rate. (o) Under the provisions of "Tho Rating Act, 1894," and section 102 of "Tho Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," Water Rates as follows : — (a) Where tho annual rateable valuo on the valuation roll does not excaed £12 10s per annum a rate of Ten Shillings (10s) to bo struck and levied; (b) where such rateable valuo exceeds £2 103 per annum a rato of 24 per cent, on such value be struck and levied. One-half tho respective Water Ralos mentioned above on all lands and buildings to which water can bo but is not supplied, situated within 100 yards within any part from the waterworks, and on all buildings used as stores or warehouses, or for purposes other than dwelling houses. Tho General Rato and Sanitary Foe abovo enumerated ore duo and payable on tho 29th day of SEPTEMBER, 1906, and as regards the Water Rates, tho amount for tho two half-yoars between Ist April, 1906, and 31st March, 1907, are due and payable on the 29th day of SEPTEMBER, 1906. Notioc is also given that tho Council intends to levy and collect a Special R-ato of Five Twenty-fourths (5-24ths) of . a Penny in the Pound Sterling on the unimproved value of all the rateable*- property within the Borough, the samo being a portion of -tho special annual recurring rate struck and pledged to securo the payment of Interest and Sinking Fund of the Drainage Loans of £12,610 16s and £2300, such rate being duo and payable on the dates fixed on that bohalf. Notico is also given that the Council intends to levy and collect a Speoial Rato of One-sixth (l-6d) of a Penny in the Pound Sterling on tho unimproved value of all rateable property within the Borough, the samo being a portion of tho annually recurring rato struck and pledged to securo tho payment of Interest and Sinking Funds of the Street Improvement Loans of £2549 17s and -.7000, such pate being duo and payable on tho dates fixed on thai bohalf.
