The Market rate oi discount for best three montns' bills is 5-lbths lower at 34 per cent. The Bank of Kngl&nd rate is 3± per cent., as against 4 per cent, on tho 21st June. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. Wheat.— The English and American markets are quiet, and buyers are holding off. The Continental market is firm. An Australian shipment sold at 31s, South Australian, afloat, 31s to 31s 9d, prompt delivery 32s 3d; Victorian, FebruaryMarch shipment, 31s to 31s 3d; New South Wales, afloat, 303 9d to 3is 6d . Virtorian parcels, June shipment, 30s 9dper Quarter. Flour is dull. Australian is quoted in London at 23s 3d, and at Glasgow at 24s to 24s 3d. Butter is very firm. Stocks are exhausted. Danish, 112s to 114s ; choicest Australian, 98s to 100s; unsalted, 102s to 104s; New Zealand, 104s per owt. Chee39 is in good demand. Coloured New Zealand, 62s to 635; white, 66s per cwt. Sugar is quiet. German beet, 88deg., Id higher at 8s 3d; fir3t mark, granulated, f.o.b. Hamburg, unchanged at 10b 5d per cwt. Sheepskins.— At the sales 3300 were offered and sold. There was a good attendance with fair competition. Prices declined a farthing, compared with the May talcs. Pelts— Short-woolled sorts most irregular, long-woolled crossbreds only slightly in buyers' favour. Bradford Tope.— The market is fairly active; 40's are quoted at 19d; 46's at 204 d: common 60s at 27£ d, and super 60's at 28d per lb. THE METAL MARKETS. Copper— Spot, 20s higher, at £84 10s; three months', Ss lower, at £82 5s per ton. Tin— Spot, 60s higher, at £177 15s ; three months' £2 15s higher, at £177 per ton. Pig-iron, Id higher, at 50s 3d per ton. Lead, 2s 6d higher, at £16 15s per ton. Spelter, £27 7s 6d per ton. WOOL AND SKIN SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report: — We submitted a. catalogue of about 1300 skins, 55 bales wool, 100 hides, and a quantity of tallow. Buyers were well represented, and prioes obtained were well up to last tales rates. We quote:— Wool— Stragglers, coarse crossbred 9jd to lOJd, good clean clutching* Bid to 9d, «eedy 6id to Bd, locks and pieces 5d to 7id. Sheepskins — Merino 9id to lOd, fine crossbred 9£d to 10id, coarse crossbred 9id to lOd, ghortwoolled crosibreds Sid to Sd, broken and dead 6d to 83d, lambskins from B£d to 10id per lb, green skins from 6s 6d to 9s 2d, green lambi' 5a 6d to 6s 6d each. (Ltd.), Wellington, have received the follpwing cable message from London, under date 21sfc inst. : — "Butter. — Market firm. The Copenhagen official quotation is higher by one kroner (about Is l^d) per cwt since our cable of tho 14 th init. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending the 16th inst. amounted to 104,000 owfc, as compared with 72,000cwt for tho corresponding' weak of 1905." Messrs. Murray. Roberts and Co. have received the following cablegram, from London, 21st June:— "The market for full-woolle'd merino sheepskins ha« declined id to id per lb, and half-woolled and Khorter^fl&eriuo sheepskins have declined id to gd per lb. Tho nwket for oross&ed skins shows no material change."
