THE CRICKET DEADLOCK.
QUESTION STILL UNSETTLED. [PBESB ASSOCIATION.) MELBOURNE, 19th June. Major Wardill etates that the Melbourne Club to-day considered the action of the New South Wales Association in regard to the reinstatement of players, but nothing could be done towards bringing matters to. a satisfactory issue. Sir William Lyne telegraphed suggesting that the Meioournc Club should- approach the Victorian Association with a view to renewing through that body negotiations with the New South Wales Association. Major Wardill declared that that was impossible, as the Melbourne Club and other clubs which joined in forming the Victorian Cricket League no longer recognised the association as- the governing body of cricket in Victoria. The deadlock, therefore, continues.
