Mr. G. F. Gee, manager for the National Bank of New Zealand in Welliagton, left for Christchurch by the Mararoa last night to fill the managership of the Christchurch branch of the bank for six months during the absence of Mr. Ferguson, on leave. Mr. Stott will act as Wellington manager during Mr. Gee's absence. Our Dunedin correspondent telegraphs that Sir. Robert Crow, who has been promoted to the head office, received » presentation from the staff of the Dunedin Telegraph Office. Mr. Crow, who is brother of the secretary to the Minister for Customs, has been for many year* in. the office in the Southern city, and is prominently identified with oj cling. Inspector Kiely (Wanganui) and In» i spector Wilson (Greymouth), of the Police Department, are to exchange stations. Acting-Detective Qudrke is to be transferred from Wellington to Palmerston Nor.h, where he will replace Detective Maddern, wjio is to be stationed at Gisborne. Constable Williams, of the Clyde-quay station, will temporarily act aa a detective In Wellington. The following visitors are staying at the Empire Hotel : — Mr. and Mrs. Kellarman (Chicago), Mr. P.
