NEW SOUTH~WALES WHEAT YIELD. SYDNEY, This Day. The Sydney Morning Herald estimates the wheat yield in New South Wales at 17,500,000 * bushels, an average of 9J bushels per acra. The quantity availablo for export is estimated at 7,000,000 bushels. A TOURING FOOTBALL TEAM. SYDNEY, This Day. The secretary of tho Football Association hns received an offer from the proprietor of the newspaper People, .guaranteeing the whole expenses of a touring British team throughout Australasia, the only condition being that the Corinthian team must undertake the trip. It is understood that 'the visit is intended next season. •LAND SETTLEMENT. MELBOURNE. 29th December. In reference to the cable message from London yesterday that Canada, is offering General Booth land for his colonisation scheme, Mr. Bent, Premier of Victoria, says he has no intention of offering General Booth land. The, reason for this is that the Victorian Government is receiv-'l ing applications for land from all parts oi) Australia and elsewhere. People who went to South Africa after the war want to come back, and many others desire to settle in this State. W. N. WILLIS'S APPEAL. SYDNEY, 29th December. The Government is informed by the Natal law authorities that the appeal of W, N. Willis {who was arrested a 6 Durban on a charge of conspiracy in connection with land transactioas in New South Wales) against the granting of extrndiction has been dismissed. Willis will now appeal to the Supreme Court, and, if the result there is unfavourable, to the Privy Council. BANKRUPTCY RETURNS. SYDNEY. 29th December. In bankruptcy petitions presented in New South Wales foy the year just ending, the liabilities totalled £289,000 and the assets £160,000. THE GOVERNOR OF NEW SOUTH WALL'S. SYDNEY, 29th December.
