The fortnightly meeting of the Miramar Jiorough Council was held last evening. There were present— The Mayor (Mr. F. Townsend) in the chair, Councillors Wardell, Richards, Witt, Brodit, M'Urath. A special meeting was held previous to entering upon the ordinary business in order to consider the question of taking dvef certair- roads from Minimal- Limited. A long discussion took place but no finality could be arrived at, and it was decided to adjourn consideration of the mattei until next meeting. In the meantime the question of the connection between the Matai nnd Totara Roads, which is the stumbling block, is to be gone into. A letter was received from tho Colonial Secretary's Office stating that Mr. \V. S. Short, of the Department of Roads, has been appointed to be a Commissioner under tlie Municipal Corporations Act, 1900, for the purpose of holding un enquiry and making a report respecting financial and other adjustments between the Miramiir Council and the Hutt County Council consequent on the constitution of the Minium Bomagh. In the event of the Hutt Borough being reptesented by counsel the Miramar body will also be represented. Tho application of Messrs. lA. and C. Crawford foi the formation of a now road through their property "was agreed to on certain minor conditions. Kirkcaldio and Stains, Ltd., have arranged for a bi-weekly suburban delivery to residents at Island Bay, Kilbirme as far as Dillon's Store, Northlands nnd Karori, as fur as the Post Office store.
