Only five cases of scarlet fever aro reported by the Public Health Department as having occurred in the city for tho week ending 30th September. There are no cases reported from the Hutt County. ReOarring to the New Zealand team's four consecutive wins, 169 points against 4, "Offside Mac" writes in the Carterton Leader that the native team wjs beaten in its fourth nntch, by Moscley, by 6 ir 4, having won its first three matches with a total of 18 points against 2. 'the native tour began seventeen days later than the present team's, and the factor of condition of the Horns teams therefore enters into the comparison, and another factor is that it may be assumed that since, tha time the natives played in England, football there has deteriorated, whilst there has been, a ' corresponding increase of knowledge of the game in New Zealand. "The present New Zealand team is a dry weather combination. Both backs anil forwards reyel on dry ground, but there is no doubt \thev will feel the' pinch, in November, ayd especially in December, in the cold weather dnd on the wet sludgy grouuds of. Britain. However, by that time the team should be a great Rugby machine of legs,Varms,^and br.iins, and, everything else be\}ng equal, will be hard to beat." The wr-jter predicts good results if "our men can only .keep then heads from swelling \and their throats, from thirst." \ A most enthusiastic welcome back to Berhairipore was extended •Ju the Rev T.
