'LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL, PETONE WATERWORKS. " The Hon. J. Rigg moved the second reading of the Petone Corporation Waterworks Bill, which aims to validate and confirm a settlement made by" the Petone Borough Council of a claim by the Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Company for compensation for loss sus■tained in connection with a diversion of wat?r from <the Korokoro stream. The- second reading was agreed to without discussion. WELLINGTON HOSPITAL CONTRIBUTORS. On the Hon. J. Ri'gg's motion the second reading of ihe Wellington Hospital Contributors and Sooiety for Relief of the Aged Needy Bill, which concerns the- exchange of certain lands, -was agreed to.
