WELLINGTON v. WAIRARAPA.

The challenge match for the Ranfurly Shield between Wairarapa and Wellington is to be played on the Athletic Park to-morrow afternoon. When these teams met a few weeks ago Wellington won by a narrow margin. Since that time, however, the Wairarapa tenm is said to have been strengthened, so an interesting; game should result to-morrow. The Wairarapa team is as folows ; — Full-back, C. Williams (Maswrton) ; three-quarters, P. Rogers (Featherston), J. O'Leary (Masterton), Wrigley (Masterton) ; five-eighth, P. O'Leary (Maslerton) ; half, Logan (Masterton); wings, Gray (Mastciton), Armstrong (Carterton) ; foiwarcts, Wickens (Featherston), Workman (Greytown), Beard (Greytown), 11. M'Kenzie (Carterton), F. Johnaton (Carterton), Cadwalla"der (Carlerton), Spaekmun (M-tslerton). Emsigencifcs— Back, Roger 1 ? (EkoUhunn) and Miller; forwaids, Duggau Raisdii. Rogers and Duggun will accompany the team. A meeting of the Referees' Association vtis held last evening, Mr. J. Lauyhton occupying the clmir. It was decided to inform tho Wellington Rugby Union that no lccord of tho evidence taken at an enquiry held by a sub-committee of the association into tlie action of a leferee in ordering a Kia Oia plnyer off the Held had been kept. Jn reply to a request from tho association that the Wellington Union should givo a donation towards defraying expenses in connection with entertaining delegates to the recent referees' conference, the union wrote stating thai the request had been forwarded on to the Now Zealand Rugby Union. Ifc was decided that the Wellington Union be ictfiiested to withdraw the letter sent to the New Zealand Union. The matter of making with a view to getting the ground lit Kewtoun Park properly nnrked out, was left over for consideration by a combined meeting of the committee of tho association and the Wellington .
