THE FRENCH FLEET'S VISIT. APPRECIATION OF THE WELCOME. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] LONDON, 11th August. At the luncheon given to the French naval officers at the Guildhall, Admiral Caillard assured the Lord Mayor that France waimly appreciated the magnificent welcome which Britain had extended to the French sailors. His hope was that the friendship of tue two nations would be drawn still closer, and that the Channel would become a bond of union. MORE BANQUETS. (Received August 12 )4 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, 11th August. Lord Lansdowne, Minister of Foreign Attairs, entertained Admiral Caillnrd and his officers at a banquet last night, and tne Prime Minister (Mr. Balfour) will entertain them in a similar manner to-night. The Lord Mayor gave a luncheon to 120 petty officers at the Guildhall. They hid a tremendous reception while driving through the London streets. Admiral Caillard and eighty officers had luncheon at Windsor Castle.
