AN AMENDING LIQUOR BILL
THE PROBLEM IN NEW SOUTH WALES. [PHES3 ASSOCIATION.! (Received Autpisb 11, .9.39 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. In the As&embly, tlio Attorney-Genoral took the preliminary steps for tho introduction of an Amending Liquor Bill, which provide 3 for local option, restricting illicit traffic, regulating clubs, and the stopping of Sunday trading. A provision is made that tho question of money compensation shall bo elecided by the vote of the people according to the electorates throughout the State. During the debate Mr. Carruthers, the Premier, opposed compensation of any kind, but favoured a reasonable time notice.
