PARLIAMENTARY GALLERY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Will you allow me a little space for a complaint about the Parliamentary public gallery ? In the fiftft place, the accommodation of the gallery is altogether inadequate for the number of visitors. If one is successful enough 'to gain admission, his stay is greatly hampered by the uncomfortable position of the seats, which ure scarcely roomy enough to provide for tho comfortable seating of a child. Tho ventilation is very poor, and, although the weather is at present very cold, the House is simply stifling. The green curtains at tho sides certainly look ornamental, but the light is shut off bjr these unnecessary hangings. To the left is the ladies' gallery, crowded with eager point-lnce. and table-centro workers, delighted to have a quiet moment to finish their delicate work, regardless of their occupying room which, could and would be filled by persons; anxious to hear ihe debates. 1 trust you will find room for this in a corner of the Post, and that the mutter will receive qttention in the proper quartoj". — I oin, etc.. TURNED OUT. Wellington, 12th July. ' I
