TO-DAY'S PARLIAMENT.

LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. Leave of absence for three days was granted to tho Hon. R. H. J. Reeves. OLD-AGE PENSIONS. The Old-age Pensions Bill was received from the House and read a first time. DIVORCE ACT AMENDMENT. The second reading of Mr. Laurenson's Divorce Act Amendment Bill was moved by the Hon. W. Bolt. This Bill proposes to make seven years' continuous confinement in a lunatic asylum a ground I for divorce, and to increase from five to seven years the period of desertion necessary to constitute a ground for divorce.
