The following players have been selected to represent Otago and Southland against the New Zealand team on Saturday next :— Pull-back, Booth ; three-quart-ers, Gilray, Bennet, Dobson ; five-eighths, Stead (Southland), and King; half, Burgess (Southland); forwards, Casey, M'Nie (Southland), E. Purdue (Southland), G. Purdue (Southland), Johnston, M'Donald, Given, Porteous. In the event of any of the above players being required for the New Zealand team, their places will be filled by Spiers, Stewart, or Abbott.
