For the two previous weeks the record was compiled on the Monday, bo tiiat it must be borne in mind the third wjek is a short one. Mr. Harry Creber, of Westport (Silver Wy.indoU.es), is still leading, his total for the three weeks being 56 eggs — being 19 in the first week, 22 in the second, and 25 in the third. Mr. F. B. Brooks, of South Australia (White liOffbonis), is second, with a total of 50 —12, 18, and 20. Mr Henry Leger, of Levin (\Vhil6 Leghorns), is third with a total of 49—6, 22. and 21. In tho fourth position are the White Leghorns of Mrs. Aldridge, of Wainiu Bar, with a total of 29 (10, 11, and 8). The fifth are the Brown Leghorns of Mr. E. Maxted, Blenheim, 27 (7, 12, and 8). The sixth are the White Leghorns of J. Hodson, Blenheim, with 26 (4, 8, and 14). Many of the hens were not well prepared for the event, and in 38 out of the 100 pens not a single egg was laid. The weekly records issued by the management do not include daily details or j weight of eggs.
