Commander llyde-Parker, of the flagrfnp Euryulua, has been on a visit to I'lilnieratou North. Sir Joseph Ward is indisposed to-day, but hopch to be able to attend at his bffico to-morrow. Mr. Henry Wardcll has arrived in Wellington, and takes charge of tho business of MesHis. Wardoll lkas. and Co. Dr. Utah am Robertson, of Maryborough, has been appointed junior houso surgeon at tho Wellington Hospital, and will start duty on Thursday, the 2nd prox. Mrs. T. K. Macdouald, who has boon with Miss MocdcMUild on a health trip to Ivotorav, will return to Wellington this evening. .Mr. T. W. Honey, editor of tho Sydney Morning Herald, who, with Mrs. Uoncy, had spent a holiday vacation in Now Zealand, left for Sydnoy by the Monowai on Saturday. Mr. J. L, Stout, son of the Chief Justice, was this morning admitted by Mr. Justice Cooper a» a barriafrer and solicitor of tho Supreme Court, on the motion of Dr. FnulUiy. Mr. Stout will inter the office of Dr. Findlay. Mr. T. M. Wilford, .M.H.R., who had mado tentative ammgemcnLi to eontrrftt tho Mayoralty election for Wellington, li.i.h found it impossible to make his busi-r!t-.*s arrangements suit his intention. He Ii is therefore definitely decided not to stand for the olhVe this year. Mr. A. H. Johnetono, 8.A., LL.B., tuts left the survice of tho Government Insurance Head Orllco in order to enter into legal practico with the firm of Messrs. MuTorKs, M'Veagh, ttnd Anderson, Ktrutford. Before leaving on Saturday his fellow officers presented him with v handsome travelling cake. Mr. Montague K. Bannister, Secretary of the Now Zealand Times Company (son of Mr. Robert E. Bannister, of Wellington), was married at Rt. Peter's Church this afternoon to Mis.s Annie Strange Sirae (daughter of Mr. Thomas tShno, late of Dunedin), a lady wellknown in muvical circles. Tho ceic mony was performed by tho Rev/ 8. S\f> Handover. The bride wan attended by the bridegroom's sisters, Misses Kthel md Mabel Bannister, and Mi««S Minntd and Jean Smith. Mr. Ernest Simo, brother of the bride, was b*>st man, and Mr. Joseph D Marks acted as grooms^* man. At tlfc conclusion of tho ceremony the Wedding March was played J>y Dr. Fylfo. A reception was hold nt "Ravenswood," Sussex-square, tho residence of fhe bridegroom « parents. Tlio bride'w present to the bridegroom Kas a double gold sovereign purse, while- the bridegroom's present to tho Vido was a 'diamond ring. Tho presents to tho bridesmaids were a gold hanglo to Miss Ethel Bannister, a diamond and sapphire ring to Mi.-w Mabel Hiinriister, ana ii gold heart pendant, with a chain, to each of the MiSSOA Smith. The honeymoon 1» to bo spent ,\n tho Hawlws Bay district, and later on the nowly-married couplo will leave on a tour round tho world.
