POULTRY SHOWS.
DATES AND CHAMPIONSHIPS FIXED. A meeting of the North Island Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association was held last night, Mr. G. Finn (President) in the chair. Dates of shows were fixed as follows :— Eketahuna, 14th and 15th June; Auckland, 15th, 16th, and 17th June; Manawatu, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd June; Wellington, 29th and 30th June and Ist July; Waikato, sth and 6th July; Wanganui, sth and 6th July; Woodville, 6th July; Hawkes Bay, 12th and 13th July; Feilding, 13th and 14th July; Wairarapa, 19th and 20th July; Hawera, 19th and 20th July; Gisborne Fanciers' Club, 20th July; Taranaki P. P. and C. Society, 28th and 29fch July; Hastings, 28th and 29th July; Pahiatua, Ist and 2nd August. It was pointed out that judges appointed by affiliated associations had to be approved by the central or governing body; and further, that the same judges were not to be appointed at successive shows within easy distance of one another. These steps were taken in the interest of exhibitors. Championships were allotted as follows :— White Leghorns, Pahiatua ; Brown Leghorns, Manawatu; Plymouth Rocks, Hawera ; Black Minorcas, Wanganui ; Silver Wyandottes, Taranaki ; Golaen Wyandottes, Hawkes Bay; Wyandottes (any other variety), Woodville; Langshans, Feilding; Light Brahmas, Waikato ; Black Orpingtons, Eketahuna ; Buff Orpingtons, Hastings ; Indian Game, Gisborne; British Game, Auckland; Game Bantams, Wanganui; Dorkings, Hastings; Andalusians, Auckland; Black Hamburgs, Waikato; Hamburgs (any other variety), Wairarapa. Ducks: Pekin, Hastings; Aylesbury, Manawatu; Indian Runner, Wellington; Rouen, Hawera. Pigeons: Magpies, Manawatu; fantails, Auckland; frills, Wellington; working homers, New v Plymouth ; tumblers, Hawkes Bay. Canaries : Norwich, plain head, Auckland; Norwich, crested, Manawatu ; Yorkshire, Wellington.
