THE SHOPS AND OFFICES ACT.
COMBINED DISTRICTS FIXED. This week's Gazette will contain the proclamation defining what are to "be regarded as the "combined districts under section 8 of the Shops and Offices Act. The district* are fixed by the .Minister for Labour in accordance with the powers with which he is invested under the Act, and are as follows : — • The combined district of Auckland, comprising the City of Auckland and the the B»roughs of Parnell, Newmarket, and Grey Lynn. The combined district of Wellington, comprising the City of Wellington, die Boroughs of Onalow, Karori, and Miramar and the town district of Johnsonville. The combined district of Christchurch, comprising the City of Christchurch, and the Boroughs of Woolston, Sumner, Lyttelton, and New Brighton. The combined district of Eanedin, comprising the City of Dunedin, and th-j Boroughs of South Dunedin, St. Kild* Mornington, Roslyn, Maori Hill, Non& East Valley, West Harbour, and Port Chalmers. The proclamation will also contain the combined districts which have been fixed for the purpose' of the statutory halfholiday, and in which that holiday is to be observed simultaneously once the day has been fixed by the delegates of the local bodies concerned. Those so far defined are as follows: — The combined district of Invercargill, xsomprising the Boroughs of Invercargill, East Invercargill, North Invercargill, South Invercargill, Avenall, and Gladstone. The combined district of Ashburton, comprising the Borough of Ashburton, and the town districts of Homestead and Tinwald. The combined district of Petone and Lower Hutt, comprising the Boroughs of Petone and Lower Hutt.
