AN EXPLANATION WANTED. (Received December 7, 7.37 a.m.) LONDON, 6th December. In connection witt the adventures of the Caroline, which was taken to Libau -by Mr. Roche on the pretext that he was going on a yachting cruise, the Yarrow firm explains that it gave the Admiralty tw-elve days' notice that the vessel was sold as a yacht -to an American millionaire The Times says the responsibility rests with the Admiralty, and the public awaits ■in explanation of the remissness shown. SUICIDE OF AN OFFICIAL. (Received December 7, 9.44 a.m.) LONDON, 6th December. George Deyes, a Customs preventive officer, lirs committed suicide. It is reported that he was censured in connection with the Caroline's escape.
