CRICKET.

The General Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association met. at Mr. li. C. Batkin's Room last night. Mr. J. P. Firth, a Vice-Presideut of the Association, was also in attendance. The Ground Committee reported that it was unable to allot the Drapers' Club a wicket on the Basin. Reserve. The Auckland Association wrote that its representative team was unable to travel this season. The Committee decided to suggest to the Taranaki Association that the best Wellington team outside of the Southen tourists play a combined Taranaki-Wanganui eleven on the 31st inst and 2nd prox in Wellington. The Athletic Park Co. is to be asked on what terms a wicket for the match can be obtained. The College A team wrote claiming the match against the Wellington team on the ground that play did not commence before 2.23 on the 26th ultimo. Mr. J. Barclay wrote protesting against the action of the College A team on the ground that he provided a scorer for his opponents at their request, an action which was rewarded by the College A captain claiming the game. The two communications were referred without discussion to the Third Class Committee for its decision on the matter. The following are the Third Class fixtures for the 10th and 17th inst: — Karori v. College A, at Karori; Johnsonville v. Midland, at Johnsonville ; Albion v. College B, at College Ground ; Gas Co. v. Phoenix, at Athletic Park; Newtown v. V.M.C.A., at Karori; Old Boys v. Austral, No .1 Day's Bay ; Rovers v. Thorndon, No. 3 Day's Bay ; Wadestown v. Wellington, No. 2 Day's Bay; St. Patrick's College, a bye. The following are the remaining fixtures for the Fourth Class round;— loth and 17th December: 'Old ßoys v. Johnsonville, at Johnsonville ; Wellington v. Midland, at Johnsonville ; Thorudon A v. Thorndon B, at Day's Bay ; Newtown, a bye. 7th and 14th January: Old Boys v. Newtown, at Day's Bay ; Wellington v. Thorndon B, at Johnsonville; Midland y. Thorndon A, at Johnsonville ; Johnsonville, a bye. 21st and 28th January : Old Boys v. Thorndon A, "at Johnsonville; Midland v. Thorndon B, at Day's Bay ; Johnsonville v. Newtown, at Johnsonville; Wellington, bye. 4th and 11th February: Old Boys v. Thorndon B, at Johnsonville ; Wellington v. Newtown, at Day's Bay; Thorndon A v. Johnsonville, at Johnsonville; Midland, a bye. 18th and 25th February : Wellington v. Thorndon A, at Day's Bay; Midland 1 v. Newtown, at Johnsonville ; Johnsonville v.
