SPORTS AT CHRISTCHURCH. [BY TELEGRAPH — PKESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, 3rd December. The 'Pioneer Amateur Bicycle and Athletic Club's spring meeting was held today. A strong east wind and rather heavy track were against good times. The following were the results : — 100 yds Maiden Handicap.— R. R. M'Callum, Byds, 1 ; time 10 3-ssec. 220 yds Hurdles. R. J. Dansey, 7yds behind, 1 ; time, 34 4-ssec. 880 yds Canterbury Championship. — E. T. Harper, 1 ; won very easily, only two starting ; time, 2min 22 2-ssec. Secondary Schools Challenge Cup. — Christ's College, 19 points, 1 ; Boys' High School, 23 points, 2. G. A. Drake (High School) won the 220 yds flat in 25 4-s<-ec ; W. Tonks "(Christ's College) the 120 yds Hurdles (3ft) in 16 3-ssec. Putting 161b Weight.— T. Burke (handicap 2ft 6in), 36ft lOin, 1 One-mile Handicap— W. J. Lopdell, 150 yds, 1 ; time, 4min 45sec. 100 yds Handicap.— T. Burke, syds, 1 ; P. H. Hartland, scr, 2; time, 10 2-ssec. Hartland protested against Burke on the ground of his entry form being incorrect. One-mile Bicycle Handicap. — W. J. Garrett, scr, 1 ; time, 2min 39 2-ssec. Wrestling.—T. Burke, I. ' Two-mile Walk Handicap. — R. Twyneham, 220 yds, 1 ; time, 15min 29 2-ssec. Throwing the Hammer. — S. Baird, scr, 107 ft 6in, 1. 200 yds Handicap. — ' C. H. Merton, 11yds, 1 ; time, 21 2-ssec. 440 yds Ladies' Bracelet. — R. R. M'Cal'.um, 16yds, 1 ; time/ 55 l-ssec. High Jump. — T. Burke (handicap 3in), stt 4£in, 1. Three-mile Steeplechase.—W. J. Lopdell, 160 yds, 1; F. J. Leggett, scr, 2 ; time, 17min 21sec ; Lopdell was protested against on the ground of having competed for cash. Long Jump. — A. 0. Keating (handicap 18in), 20ft 6in, 1. Two-mile Roadster Bicycle Handicap. — A. R. Falconer, 50yds, 1 ; time, sinn 44sec. 440 yds Handicap. — P. J. Cordery, 24yds, 1 ; time, 55 l-ssec. One-mile Relay Race — Christchurch Football Cub", 1 ; time, 3min 48sec. Christ's College finished first, but was disqualified, as the second man collapsed five yards from the end of his distance, and third man ran back to touch him. The protests against Burke "and Lopdell wiE be considered to-morrow. AUCKLAND MEETING. AUCKLAND, 3rd December. There was not a large attendance at the Auckland Amateur Athletic Club's meeting, held at the Domain to-day. The events were interesting, hut no records were broken, and there were no special features. The wrestling competition was a novelty, being won by C. R. Fraser.
