Palmes also started, and | made a plucky effort, all the men being j very close at the finish. Corp. Wilton led till half-way through the second i round, , when Corp. Bramley took the lead, and won by two yards. Neatest header, Sapper B. Palates 1, Corp. Wilton 2, Sapper Taylor 3. Palmes and Wilton tied, the former winning on the .dive-off. Handicap, 50yds, Sapper B. Palmes (llsec) 1, Quarterinaster-Sergt. ' Swinburne (Bsec) 2, Corp. Wilton (scr) 3. Greasy boom, Corp. Morse 1, Sapper Taylor 2. These two tied, and had to "climb-ofi." Open handicap, 100 yds, J. F. Williams (Swift Club, 3 f 6sec) 1, W. Churchwaid (Swift Club, 16sec) 2, P. Reid (20{kc) 3. B. C. Freybcrg was scratch Dash, 25yds, Sergt. Stone 1, Corps. Wilton and Bramley deat heat for second j Church parade was held, two derach- j ments of the Petone Navals, under Capt. | Archibald and Liout. Freeman, taking part. The service was conducted by the Company Chaplain, Rev. T. H. Sprott Next Sunday will be an "at home" day with the* corps, when friends and admirers of both sexes will be cordially entertained at the camp. An afternoon boat will run.
