REMOVAL OF DEAD AND I WOUNDED. | A SHORT ARMISTICE. THE STRUGGLE FOR METRE HILL. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] LONDON, 4th December. The bearer of a flag of truce, approaching the Japanese left wing before Port Arthur on Friday, arranged a partial armistice for six hours for the removal of dead and wounded. The Daily Express says that as the Russians are determined to retake 203 Metre Hill at all hazards, the Japanese are piling company upon company on the hill. Seventeen Japanese officers were killed and sixty-four wounded recently at Port Arthur, mostly in the attack on Metre Hill. R-euter's Agency states that the Russians at Port Arthur are foitifying the Liaotishan district, feouth of the town.
