CO LLISION WITH A WHALE.
[BY TELEOnAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WHANGAREI, This Day. On a. recent trip from llokianga, when between Ahipara and Cape Maria Van Diemen, a large whale struck the Glene'g, one of the blades of the propeller touching the whale. The severe shock caused the chief engineer to &top the steamer.
The members of tho Land Boards Conference were tho guests of the Cabinet at luncheon at the Bellevue Gardens today. About fifty gentlemen were present, including the Minister of Lands aud the Native Minister*
