THE DARDANELLES. ♦ FRENCH STEAMER STOPPED. [press association.] (Received December 3, 9 a.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, 2nd Dec. The Porte stopped the French steamer Imerthe going through, the Dardanelles. The steamer was conveying twentyone cases of explosives to Batoum (a s'eapovt in Transcaucasia, Russia, situated on the Black Sea). "The Porte insists that the shells shall be discharged, and offers to purchase them.
