In the Public Schools' Championship games on Saturday last, Terrace beat NeWtown' by 69 runs; Mount Cook defeated Clyde-quay by" 31 ru^; Petone defeated South Wellington, and Hutfc beat Thorndon. The usual' weekly meeting of the Umpires' Association was held at Batkin's Room last night, when another interesting discussion on the rules to6k place. Playing for Redfern recently against Waverky, Fred Midlane, the ex-Phcenix player, cimpiled 106. Several of his old co'.len'gues forwarded a congratulatory cable message to Sydney this morning.
