At the first wool sale the prices showed au advance, fully averaging 2d per lb all round, eohio clips realising 3d above last season's opening rates. Two lots of halfbred were passed in at lid to Hid per lb. Averago prices were as follows: — Inferior, ?d to 74d :■ long wool, 8d to BJd ; coarse crossbred, B£d to 9d ; fine crossbred, 9£d to lOd; pieces, 6d to.Bi?d. The sales totalled 2500 bales.
