o STAR BOATING CLUB. On Saturday afternoon the Star Boating Club got off several heals of the Eenior double sculls The results were as follows:— First heat: C. E. Dowland and T. R. 'Hickson beat A. D. Bajfield and W. R. Hackworth by Uo lengths. Second heat: E. Pickering and F. A. Barclay met R. L. Evatt and E. A. Killick. The latter pair broke a scull, and had to give up. Third heat: J. Hughes and A. E. Cos&ar beat W. R. C. Oswin and N. K. Smith by about a length. Fourth heat: R. L. Evatt and E. A. Killick defeated H. Kitching and F. Gill by three lengths. PORT NICHOLSON CLUB. The second heat of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club's handicap race for first■class yachts was sailed on Saturday, and resulted in a win for Mr. A. H. Turnbull's lorangi (scratch), which beat Messrs. Georgeson and M'Lean's Wai'tangi (5 minutes). The finishing times were: lorangi, shr 2min 3osec ; Waitangi, shr 22min 40sec. The wind was light. Mr. E. Bucholz's Muritai (second-class) and Mr. R. Brewer's Taipari (third-class) sailed over the course, there being no other entries in their respective classes.
