Mr. James Mackay (Wellington) *ha* been spending some months in v«riou4 parts of England and Scotland, staying chiefly at the Bridge of Allan, Aberdeen^ Moffatt, Shrewsbury, Hereford, Batih, Plymouth, Torquay, Falmoutii and Penzance. He expresses himself as thoroughly chatmed with the beauty of the Weafc < of England scenery, some of which ha saw for the first time. He hopes later to pay a longer visit to that very cbaroHng locality. Mr. Hugh. Chilly, of Wellington, who is at present staying witii him at the same London hotel— -the Tavietock, Covent Garden — was his travelling companion during a considerable portion of his journeyings. Mr. Mackay leaves ia the new P. and 0. steamer* Moldavia, which sails for Australia on th« 14ta pror. Mr. Mackay will go out by her oa another of bis periodical visits to New Zealand. Mies Birney Stevenson (Wellington) and Miss Grace Allen (Picton) arrived m Lon* don a week ago, after a delightful trip via Australia and South Africa.
