Wind.—L, light; br, breeze; f b, Irein breeze; m g, moderate gale; g, whole or heavy gale; w, gale of exceptional severity. Weather. —B, blue sky, be the atmosphere clear or heavy; C, clouds, passing clouds; D, drizzling rain; 1\ foggy; 6, gloomy, dark weather; H, hail; L, lightning; 11, misty; O, orercaat, the whole sky covered with thick clouds; P. passing showers; Q, squally; It, rain, continued rain; S, snow; T, thunder; U, ugly, threatening appearance. WEATHER FORECAST FOR 24 HOURS FROM 3 a.tn 10-DAY. Wind. —Heavy gale from between north and west and south-west at all places eastward of Opotiki, Taupo, and Napier, and also southward of Queenstown and Nugget Point. Heavy gale from between north-east and north and west elsewhere. Barometer. —Fall again soon everywhere. Sea. —Very heavy on all western coast : heavy on east coast north of East Cape and at Oape Campbell.- Heavy off shore other parts of the east coast. Tides. —Very high on all western coast ; high on east coast northward of East Cape and on eastern coast of South Isiand. Moderate all other poits. Rain is probable in all parts of the country. Warning signals for northerly gales are exhibited at Cipe Maria Van Diemen, Tiritiri, East Cape, Capes Foulwind, Campbell, Farewell Spit, and Nugget Point. SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS. In the South Island the barometer has risen from 3-lOths to 5-lOths, but there has been little movement in the North Island. Strong winds, principally from the north and west, have been experienced generally, and there has been a light rainfall in parts of the North Island. R. A. EDWIN.
