A FEDERAL DISPUTE, [press association.] (Received November 1, 9.32 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. All the States, except Tasmania, which is now considering the matter, have agreed to appeal to the Privy Council against the exemption of Federal officers from payment of an income tax. Mr. Carruthers, Premier of New South Wales, says if the Federal Government insists on the dry reading of the law there will be retaliation on the part of the States, which will refuse to grant any concessions to the Federal Government until justice is at least rendered.
