OBITUARY.
LADY DILKE. [press association.] (Received October 26, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, 25th October. The death is announced of Lady Dilke, Lady Emilia Frances Dilke was a daughter of the late Colonel Strong, of the Madras Army. She was married twice — first to the Rev. Mark Pattison, who died in 1884; and second in 1885 to the Right Hon. Sir Charles Dilke. Lady Dilke was a frequent contributor to the press, and for many years wrote articles in the Saturday and Westminster Reviews, afterwards acting as fine art critic of the Academy. Among the works published by the deceased lady were "The Renaissance of Art in France," "The Shrine of Death" (a volume of stories), "Art in the Modern State," "The Shrine of Love," "French Painters of the Eighteenth Century," and "French Engravers 'and Draughtsmen ot the Eighteenth Century." The deceased lady was 64 years of age.
