We&thcr.—B, blue sky, be the atmosphere clear or heavy; C, clouds, passing clouds; D, drizzling run; F, foggy; G, gloomy, dark weather; H, hqil; L, lightnine; M, misty; O, overcast, the whole sky covered with thiok olouds; P, passing Bhowers; Q, tqutlly; U, rain, continued ram; S, mew; T, thunder; U, ugly, threatening appearance. WEATHER FORKOAST FOR 24 HOUBB FROM 9 t,m 10-DAY. Wind. —dale from between north-west and west and south-wett it places northward of Thames and Auckland, and from between south and east aud north-east at all other places. Barometer.—Further riie at all places south of Hokitika and Lyttelton; rise soon all other places. •* Sea. —Heavy on all eastern coast and on western coast of North Island. Moderate eliewhere. Tides.—High on all eastern ooast and on Western ooait of North Island. Moderate all other ports. Rain will prob.ibly be heavy in all pu-Ut of the North Island, and is probable in the South Island. Colder weather is probable everywhere. Warning Bignals for westerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen and Tirifciri, and for easterly gales at East Cape, Capes Farewell, Foulwind, Campbell, and at Kuggst Point. SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS. Steadily rising barometer southward of Kaikoura and Hokitika. Little movement thence to Napier and New Plymouth. Falßng barometer everywhere else. Moderate southerly winds have been experienced south of Hokltika and Lyttelton. Strong southerly {hence to Cnstlepoint and New Plymouth. Moderate to strong-westerly elsewhere, and rain genetally. R.
